Preparing your fiber to send to us for processing

  •   It is not necessary to wash your fiber before shipping.  In order to track and manage quality throughout our process, we prefer to wash it onsite with scouring agents specifically designed for luxury fibers.
  •   Please remove all large pieces of vegetation, including straw/hay, sticks, burrs and toe nails.  Please check that there are no nails, rocks, syringes or other foreign objects in your fiber.
  •  Keep your fiber dry at all times.  Alpaca fiber gets a sour smell when wet for too long.  It may also felt and mat which will result in damaged and wasted fiber.
  •   Store your fiber in plastic bags and be sure that it has some air to breathe.  Shutting off air to the fiber may cause condensation and result in moisture damage to your fiber.
  •   When shipping, do not put loose fiber into the cardboard box as your fiber will be at risk for moisture and/or moth exposure.  Please be sure that the fiber is in a plastic bag first.  Our preferred shipping method is UPS.

  •   Be sure to include all necessary contact information.  You may print off a Customer Information Form on the “Fiber Processing Pricing” page and include with your shipment.  Please complete the form thoroughly to ensure timely service.
